Jackgreen in the Community

Support your local community

Jackgreen's philosophy is to support the environment and work closely with local communities.

Through our community program, Jackgreen provides significant fund raising opportunities for local community groups such as schools, sports and community clubs and charities. If you are linked to a community organisation that would be interested in representing Jackgreen as a community agent, email the Community Sales manager.

This section of the website records some of our recent activities. We also welcome your suggestions on ways in which we could help in your local community.

“...and we’d all live together weaving baskets in a wonderful emission-free world.”
– Pierpont, The Australian Financial Review, Friday 19 August 2005

JACKGREEN AND NATIONAL TREE DAY

On July 29 2007, Jackgreen staff along with Jackgreen customers helped to make a further reduction in the damage that is done to our environment by participating in National Tree Day at Kentucky Reserve in Georges Hall.

This year was another success with a substantial amount of tree’s being planted.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success and thank you to Planet Ark for organising this fantastic event. We hope everyone enjoyed the day and look forward to next year’s success.

JACKGREEN AND PARTNERS PROMOTE CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

Our latest community initiative has involved working with partners such as Channel 10, Paramount Home Entertainment, Bunnings, Phillips and Hills to distribute a leaflet to millions of Australia homes.

The leaflet is based on the idea that whilst climate change is a ‘clear and present danger’, individuals can take steps today to combat the problem, including switching to Greenpower, reducing their electricity consumption, and making use of energy saving devices such as compact fluorescent light globes and solar water heaters.

"This is the most significant environment awareness campaign ever undertaken in Australia", said Jon Dee, founder of Planet Ark ,"without Jackgreen this project would not have been possible. They not only underwrote the campaign, but their involvement helped bring in other businesses and made sure the leaflet reached 5m homes".
