Jackgreen Renewable Energy Facts
Did you know?
Each year the energy consumption of the average household produces over 8 tonnes of greenhouse gases when it is generated. This is roughly equivalent to the emissions of 2 cars over a year!
Did you know?
Increasing levels of greenhouse gases are likely to produce a warming at the Earth’s surface. This warming is likely to lead to world-wide changes in weather and climate.
Some places may get more rain and storms while others may get less.
By the end of the 21st century, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change,
average world temperatures are likely to be between 1.4°C and 5.8°C higher than they were in the year 1990.
This is much larger than the changes observed over the 20th century and the rate of warming is unprecedented in at least the last 10,000 years.

Did you know?
We emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in a number of ways. The consumption of electricity by households, businesses and industry contributes a significant proportion,
while transport is also a growing contributor.
When oil, gas or coal burns, carbon in the fuel combines with oxygen from the air to make carbon dioxide. More than 90% of Australia’s energy currently comes from
coal-fired power stations, with less than 10% coming from clean renewable energy sources (such as hydro, wind and solar).
The generation of electricity to support the various economic sectors in Australia contributes around 175 million tonnes of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere each year.
