Renewable energy — what is it?

Australia is one of the highest producers of greenhouse gas pollution in the world. Each year the energy consumption of the average household produces over 8 tonnes of greenhouse gases when it is generated. This is roughly equivalent to the emissions of 2 cars over a year!

We are dedicated to building the demand for renewable energy and to providing an easy and inexpensive way for people to help the environment.

By increasing demand for renewable sources, we can offer a much smarter solution than burning fossil fuels. Increasingly, Australians are understanding, that energy derived from renewable sources such as hydro energy, wind power and solar energy can reduce greenhouse gases, which is beneficial to us all.

Power grid
  1. Energy is usually pooled from various generation sources and distributed through network grids to supply individual residences. This provides the energy you use in your home.
  2. Most of the energy used by people comes from power stations burning fossil fuel such as coal. When burnt, these sources create greenhouse gases which lead to climate change. Energy generated from renewable resources such as low-impact hydro and wind do not create greenhouse gases.
  3. The more people who switch to Jackgreen, the more demand is created for renewable energy. This will enable Jackgreen to support the development of new renewable generation to add to existing capacity, delivering further benefits to the environment.
