Fun in the Sun at the Fred Hutley Reserve on National Tree Day
National Tree Day was a huge success this year with over 2,000 trees planted by 120 volunteers on Sunday at the Fred Hutley Reserve in Cammeray.
Andrew Randall, Managing Director of Jackgreen, the major sponsor of the tree planting day, was extremely pleased with the event.
"An additional 2,000 trees will have a huge impact on the Fred Hutley Reserve, and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to the site and planted a tree with us."
"At Jackgreen we are committed to a cleaner, greener environment. Tree planting days like this demonstrate that Australians really care about their environment, and as well as investing time in planting trees they are also turning away from traditional coal and fossil fuels and signing up for a green, clean alternative with Jackgreen," he continued.
Each year the electricity consumption of the average house produces nearly 8 tonnes of greenhouse gases. This is roughly equivalent to the emissions 3 cars over a year.
Jackgreen electricity is from renewable sources such as hydro, wind and solar and can offer a cleaner, smarter solution than traditional fossil fuels.
